This auction is for a highly collectible 1981 sterling silver Christmas ornament/medallion by TOWLE Sterling, eleventh in a limited edition series of twelve made for 1981. You'll find others here on Ebay, but most all are offered with ridiculous shipping charges and/or high starting bids. This is one of many I'll be listing, most all with their original protective cloth pouch, box and paperwork and all with free shipping and no reserve!
This Towle sterling silver Christmas Medallion is one of the rarest of my Towle sterling Christmas listings. It is the eleventh in a series of twelve limited edition Christmas Medallions based on the historic old carol "The Twelve Days of Christmas". This rare and highly collectible ornament features "Eleven Pipers Piping". The opposite side was inspired by 17th century decorative woodwork in the interior of the Chapel at Mapledurham House, Oxfordshire, England. These unique design elements make this particular medallion useful as both a pendant or a very special Christmas Tree ornament. The story behind it is on the original paperwork included in the package. The ornament/medallion could use a light polish but is otherwise in mint condition and properly hallmarked "TOWLE STERLING COPYRIGHT 1981".
