6 Sterling/lenox Demitasse Cups & Saucers-original Box Picture(s) and Description:
6 STERLING/LENOX DEMITASSE CUPS & SAUCERS-ORIGINAL BOX This gorgeous demitasse set consists of six sterling silver cups and saucers and Lenox liners. In the original fitted, dark green (in the photos, the green color in the open box is closest to the actual color ) velvet lined, cloth covered box, it does not appear to ever have been used. The cover on the box is a sturdy, silky fabric and has a few water stains.
The saucers are monogrammed with a handsome English script: "M" or "W", depending on which way you are looking at it. They are marked "Sterling" with a maker's mark that is unfamiliar to me.whoever made this set, it is really beautiful.
The holders are absolutely exquisite, pierced all around the centers, with a pierced floral pattern under the rims - very special. The holders are also marked sterling and with the maker's mark.The liners are not marked, but they are clearly Lenox, and there is no damage whatever.
This wonderful set has been in the possession of the same family for more years than anyone can remember.
