Antique Russian Sterling Silver Enamel Box Case Krollav Picture(s) and Description:

Up for auction is one of the finest pieces of silver and enamel I have ever seen. It is of Russian orgin. The top design is as good as it gets. It is a very heavy box weighing 5oz. It measures 3 9/16" x 2 7/16" x 1/2" thick. It has a stunning gold wash on the inside. the enamel work is amazing. A piece of this quality could only be made by a master. It is hallmarked on the lip of the top. The makers mark is A-K. It has two other hallmarks that are tough to make out. The back of the lip has the numbers 84318. The numbers where hand stamed individualy. The color of the bottom and side enamel is grey/blue. There is one small chip to the corner of the enamel on the bottom. There is a slight amount of black enamel missing in the channel on the back of the lid. The piece is possibly made by Alexander Nikolaievich Krollav or Andrei Kovalsky. The piece is fresh out of a fine old estate and not to be missed. Please email with any questions.
