ANTIQUE SWEDISH CHEST BOX EARLY PAINT 1841 SWEDEN AAFA Picture(s) and Description:

This chest has it all ~ 1. Painted in a brownish red, trimmed out in blue 2. Dated 1841 and initialed 3. Hand forged handle and hinges. Notice how the inside is chiseled to accomodate the hinges and allow the top to lay flush. 4. Painted on all 4 sides ~ great for display when you don't want it to butt against a wall. 5. Totally constructed with dovetails, pegs and mortised (see pictures). The only nails/screws are for hardware attachment. 6. Till inside ( a PLUS~!) and very clean. The stain seen on the bottom of the chest has been there a very long time and has soaked into the wood. It does not pose a problem. 7. A nice size ~ 19 inches wide, 13 inches deep, 8.75 inches tall. This chest was purchased many years ago at the Nashville Tailgate show from a dealer who makes a yearly trip to Sweden to antique. I have bought many items from her over the years and they are always wonderful with great construction and paint. As pictured, there was a lock on the front of the chest that has long ago disappeared. The color of the chest is best seen in the first 2 pictures.
