Beautiful Antique Mahogany Writing Box Desk Slope Picture(s) and Description:
Beautiful antique mahogany writing box dating from the last quarter of the 19th century. Mahogany with brass details. Monogrammed nameplate "Rachael Dick". The inside is complete with tray, inkwell and original felt writing surface. The lock works and the key is included. This box is 16" long, 10" deep and 6 1/4" tall.
It is in beautiful original condition for its age. Some marks and wear to the finish, but all minor. Each of the corners on the lid has some slight cracking in the veneer (see pictures). The interior felt has faded and there is a small split in the seam. The brass escutcheon for the lock is missing, but I'm sure a replacement could be found.
