Here is an absolutely beautiful Antique Hamilton Model 22 Marine Chronometer. This clock is running very strong right now and has been for a complete winding period. These were produced for use on ships. This is complete with the original case, opening in two places, with glass cover for the top opening. It also has the outer case and the ORIGINAL MOVEMENT TUB! The case is equipped with a gimbal system which allows the movement to rock and tilt with the ship motions. The dial is silvered in color with black Arabic numerals. I am unable to identify any problems with this clock. It is complete with outer case and the ORIGINAL MOVEMENT TUB! I believe that the pictures fully explain everything I can say about this unit. The inner wooden case is a 6 inch cube. The outer box is 8 inches square and 7 inches tall. The paper label on the inside of the bezel reads: #1374 Overhaul Due Feb 1971. The paper label on the bottom of the movement reads: Repaired by Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. I will remove the movement from the gimbals and pack it in the attending original tub for the movement. And speaking of the tub, you can see the incised, SHIPPING CONTAINER FOR SHIP CHRONOMETER, and inside the tub is a rubber cushioning for the movement, which I did fail to show in a picture. Please ask questions, because I am not sure of anything else I should say about this excellent piece.

Packing and Shipping: This lot, consisting of chronometer with both inner wooden case and outer wooden box, along with the original tub weighs about twelve pounds as yet un-packed. Allowing a few pounds for packing material, I will enter this as a sixteen pound package in the shipping calculator. The box will be a little over-sized and the estimate will be included in the shipping calculator. Shipping will be by Priority Mail, USPO. I never charge a packing or handling fee unless some peculiar circumstances exist, such as having to purchase special boxing. That will not be necessary in this situation. I do not ship without Insurance for the full bid price plus Delivery Confirmation (total $2.35 or more, depending on the final bid). You can determine very nearly the exact shipping costs yourself by visiting the USPO website at http://postcalc.usps.gov/. Please do not forget to include Insurance and Delivery Confirmation. I will ship by a FedEx if you desire, however an inconvenience fee of $10.00 will be added to the final bid price. I will ship internationally, but there will be an additional $10.00 fee charge for the paperwork. Of course lots can be combined to make shipping costs less.

Invoice: I will send an invoice to the high bidder within a very few hours after the auction ends. The postal charges spelled out above in this description represent a reasonable guess as to weight of the packed lot and will very likely not be the exact charges which I will include in the invoice. I will get the lot packed before the auction ends and the invoice will reflect exact weights and measures and appropriate postal charges for those amounts. I beg of you, please do not initiate payment through PayPal until you receive the invoice. Should you elect to pay by PayPal before I send the invoice or otherwise contact you, I will not refund any overpayment you might make unless such overpayment is in an egregious amount (more than $5.00?). The final shipping costs will more than likely be less than the eBay estimates, so please wait until I send the invoice.

Sales Tax: All buyers within Texas must either submit the payment with 8.25% added to the final bid amount or must provide adequate proof of exemption from the Texas State Sales and Use Tax.
