HUGE ANTIQUE CARVED FLOWERS & SHELL BOX LOCK & KEY This box is not only gorgeous but it can be used for so many purposes ( maybe on the coffee table to hold all those remotes ) and be a fabulous focal point for a collection of antique boxes. Every side is carved, even the back has roses and shell carving. The front with face, leaves & buds, the sides with large floral and the top, my gosh, just look at the time & effort to carved all that bouquet of flowers. There are columns on the front sides of the box ( also with carved sprays of flowers ) with the shaped lid topping each when closed. There are some worm/bug holes, back side columns minor lines, all is structurally sound and in great condition. Origin may be Black Forest or American, I'm leaning toward Black Forest. Good original hinges ( looks like 2 replaced screws), closes properly and has a working lock with key included.
