A beautiful piece of Folk Art wood carving. I have seen similar carvings from Switzerland, Germany or further North in Europe whilst I'm not really an expert and as the piece is unmarked I'm not ascribing any provenance that I dont have. The carving is detailed and nicely done and the fit to the hinged lid is wonderful.
