THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE VINTAGE LIGHTNING PORTABLE ADDING MACHINE BY THE LIGHTNING ADDING MACHINE CO., INC. LOS ANGELES CALIF. U.S.A. IT IS COMPLETE WITH BOX, BAKELITE STAND AND STYLUS. THE ADDING MACHINE, BASE AND STYLUS ARE IN EXCELLENT COSMETIC AND WORKING CONDITION. THE MACHINE SITS IN THE BAKELITE BASE. BASE MEASURES APPROX. 14 INCHES LONG, 4.25 INCHES DEEP AND 1.5 INCHES HIGH. THE MACHINE WILL ADD NUMBERS UP INTO THE TEN THOUSANDS RANGE. IT HAS DIALS FOR CENTS, CENTS, DOLLARS, TENS, HUNDREDS, THOUSANDS AND TEN THOUSANDS. JUST USE THE STYLUS TO TURN A DIAL AND ADD UP THE NUMBERS. PULL THE LEVER ON THE SIDE TO CLEAR. WORKS GREAT. NO CHIPS, NO RUST. NO MARKS AND NO SCRATCHES. IT HAS FELT COVERING THE BOTTOM OF THE UNIT AND THE BASE HAS LITTLE FELT FEET. SUPPOSE TO BE DATED UNDER THE GLUED FELT BUT THE FELT IS SO NICE I WILL NOT LIFT IT TO LOOK. . DEFINITELY OLD. THE BOX HAS WEAR, STAINS AND SPLIT CORNERS AS SEEN IN PICTURES.
